Fashion trends change all the time, with the latest designers and catwalks even affecting weddings. So we’re here to let you in on the latest trends to stop you making any fashion faux pas in 2019…

Go with gold

Luxury, timeless and goes with everything – it’s not surprising that gold has made it onto so many catwalks as the dress colour of 2019. From just the jewellery you wear to just a base colour, gold offers a great alternative to the traditional and adds an incredible sparkle to your day.

All in one

It would seem that the two-piece top and skirt ensemble is now falling behind the trend as we move in to 2019. When it comes to reception wear, a full-length dress is the latest look. Single colours and simple shapes create effortless chic. In contrast to the gold of the wedding dress, these reception dresses should be white, cream or pastel. Light, floaty fabrics contrast with the wedding dress beautifully whilst still wowing the guests.

Traditional

Classic chic will always make it to the catwalks in some way. 2019 brings images of princesses and queens with more vintage cuts.

Jewels and gems

The bolder the better. From ruby red to emerald green, sapphire, ambers and amethysts – a rich gem tone can add the perfect ‘all eyes on me’ to your look.

Formalities are out

Seated dinners with plated meals are on the way out, and are being rapidly replaced by food stations in various locations. Candy buffets, once in high fashion, have also seen their day, much like the once popular chocolate fountain. Copious amounts of food are also being reconsidered, with couples becoming more conscious of the waste they produce. Patterns have been very well loved on wedding cakes but they too appear to be finally leaving the table.

Lady looks

The smoky-eyed sultry look that once covered every bride’s face is quickly being infiltrated by a much softer, romantic look that illuminates the natural feminine beauty. In fact, expensive makeup and hair services are being replaced by apps that allow for quick booking on demand.

The parties

All-female bridal parties and all-male groomsmen are in for a mix up, and as for music, jazz receptions are being replaced with contemporary music and slow first dances are also on their way out.
