Frequently Asked Questions

Ordering

How long will it take between ordering my wedding stationery and receiving delivery?

Our experience shows that from ordering to final delivery it takes up to 6 weeks. It can be considerably shorter, but you will need to be proactive. As we only do bespoke designs, the longest period will be getting your design approved.  The clearer you are from the beginning the shorter and more satisfying your design is likely to be.

Allow for between 2-3 weeks for initial design and about 2 weeks once we have received your proof confirmation. If you require your wedding stationery sooner, we can offer an express service. This service may be subject to an additional charge.

Will I get a sample?

We know how important your stationery is. We will be happy to provide you with a hand cut sample on the material of your choice. This is usually done after the final approvals.  Our pricing includes one set of proofs and if additional sets are asked for, this may be subject to an extra charge of £20+vat each.

Is there a minimum order value?

There is no minimum total order value, however the process we use, forces an element of set up costs. Your price will be inclusive of this costs – please contact us for more information.

Do I need to order all my stationery items in one go?

No. It is often the case that the quantities for your other stationery items depend on the response from your invitations. You can place your stationery order separately and we will have all your design and colour preferences remembered to make ordering your other stationery items extra easy. It is advisable though to take advantage of packages we may have on offer to keep the total cost of your stationery down.

What are your payment terms?

We would require a 50% deposit when placing the order and the balance when the stationery is complete. Orders will only be despatched once the payment has cleared to our bank. You can always pay be credit or debit card.

How do I let you know what I want written in my invitations?

Whilst, we can provide some guidance, we suggest that the text should be send to [email protected] once your order has been placed. For all other items such as inserts, menu cards,  order of service cards please email details over to us. We will assist in any way we can.

Please ensure that the text files are checked thoroughly before they arrive to us.  Amendments take a lot of time to correct and we reserve the right to charge for these text corrections.

Will I see proofs before my wedding stationery is printed?

Yes. We will send you proofs of the text for all your stationery items via email in the form of a pdf document for you to view. It is only once you have signed the confirmation of these proofs in writing that we will proceed with your order. If you would rather have a hard copy of your proofs, please inform us upon ordering and this will be arranged for you.

What should I check for on my proofs?

Your proof will show you how your wedding insert is going to appear to your guests. You should therefore check that all spelling is correct, you are happy with the layout, all stationery items are included, all dates and information is correct and the colours you have chosen are correct (if applicable). We include a proof check sheet with every set of proofs we send out, making it easy and straightforward for you to check.

Etiquette

How long before my wedding day should I send my invitations?

To ensure your guests have enough time to make any arrangements necessary you should send your invitations out at least 8 weeks before your wedding day. It is usual however to send your invitations around 3 – 4 months before your wedding day.

Should I send Save The Date cards?

If your wedding is taking place during the busy summer months, it is advisable to send out save the date cards to your guests between 6 – 12 months in advance. Your wedding invitations will then follow closer to the time. Similarly, if your wedding is overseas or requires your guests to make a number of arrangements, then save the date cards are ideal to ensure enough time is allowed.

Should we include guests’ children’s names on the invitations?

If you are inviting children to your wedding, you should include their names on their parents’ invitations. If your guest’s children are not included on their invitation they should assume the invitation is for them only. If you are not inviting children to your wedding, it would be polite to include a line at the bottom stating this.

What if guests can’t attend and I wish to invite others?

If a number of guests cannot attend your wedding it is generally acceptable to send invitations out to others, as long as you sent your original invitations out early enough. This should be done as soon as possible however to avoid guests feeling second choice!

Should I send invitations to family or close friends I know cannot attend?

It is courteous to send invitations to family and close friends you know cannot attend as a polite gesture. This is usually greatly received, kept as mementoes and seen as nice token for those who wish to attend but cannot.

Should I include a wedding gift list with my invitations?

It is generally considered impolite to include a gift list with your wedding invitations. Traditionally guests would ask the mother of the bride, or wedding hosts, for gift ideas. If you wish to send a gift list to your guests, it is advisable to send your list along with an information sheet or menu form to your guests at a later date once they have confirmed.
